its still rammed out to the rafters and loud as everphones:  the only thing, the crowd are a lot younger than it used to be IMO. i havent seen any trouble or owt in there for ages, mainly due to the best doormen i've seen ( dont take no shit and are huugely scary lol) and they have a cctv on the door so the dickheads arent even allowed in. plus theres lots of them in and aroud the club so any inccidents are dealt with straight away.
i think its had a rough time with the reputation for fights and things over the years but i've not seen anything for years, that couldnt have happened in any old pub.
music wise it is pretty much anthemy type classics, same old stuff every month:( , theres only a few DJs that ever play anything different!! ( but i havent been since they've had guest DJs on, so that may have changed recently)

the only other difference from years back is that u can no longer get on the stage ( the only place to dance imo :D ) because the DJ booth is at the back of it, and DJ ectic / any PA's/ dancers etc use the stage. it makes the dancefloor seem much more crowded tho !!

all in all, pretty shit hot, so long as you're not expecting a wide varienty or tunage:thumbsup:

I'll pretty much go with woody on this. I used to love back to the old skool. I know there was some trouble now and again but I did'nt know anybody who was ever involved so I was never too bothered, and I always felt safe there. I spat my dummy out a while back after I was chucked out for nothing and I said I would never go back but I am slowly coming round on that one. it's a top night and I will disagree with woody here on the tunes as i always loved them at maximes, and without wanting to offend anyone I think there is less variety at timeless than at maximes

Got to admit that maximes used to be the bollocks (maybe it still is, i just haven't been since about 97-98....) - gary hypnotic puts on some blindin 'Back to the Old Skool' nights and i was a last saturday of the month regular for several months.

There are several alternatives these days but you've still got to try it at least once or twice so you can make your own mind up.

i'm not dissin it or owt like, its the first old skool place i ever went to:king: the place that got me and the bman into the whole scene in the first place. i love the tunes:luv: they play em well fast too and the place rocks like a mofo:king:
its just that they are (the majority anyway) the same tunes each month. i've rarely heard owt that recca or sully or ste etc would play there. i know butty tries to vary his tunes each month, as i've sat siftin thru boxes of tunes on many at saturday evening lol, but i could prob name 20 tunes that get played each and every month if i knew the names. bombscare/rushin/high etc
not even saying that is a bad thing, coz i've seen a few djs clear the dancefloor with an unfamiliar selection over the years in there...

its just that oldskooldaze is fully appreciative of the non anthemy tune styleephones: i fink
