mc's get it rockin. our lot love em. Just remember mc's are not there to make the mix tapes sound good they are there to get everyone going.

They freshen up proceedings as I don't care what you lot say, the same tunes get boring if thats all you listen to.

Mc's get a big:thumbsup: from me

Easty!!

You think Master Bate or what ever his name is, is good though!!! He's up there with the worst ive ever heard:naughty: . Lou and Maddox i can cope with, so long as its not too much, Irie used to be good (ish) used being the operative word though! Domino gets the crowd goin pretty good, but personally i think they should all be excluded from ANY recordings, as the last thing i want to hear on a cd is some tw@t shouting "dj sy! dj sy! or something whilst he's scratching mid play with edge one compounded!!!:naughty: :cops: Aj or whatever hes called (insert w@nker smilie here)

i'll never forgive him for that. totally ruined one of the best CDs ever:cry:

The MAIN thing is it all depends what type of music it is. Can completly see why most people hate them on here and it would definatly not go down at hazy. But you also have to ask what age you are. People have grown up to different things and no matter how much people take the piss it all depends on what you got brought up with and as this is an old skool anthemz board mainly with sasha/acid heads on here who were there back in the day then it is going to show that people hate MC's on here. However the other main thing is if your there on a night or listening to tape which is another point that makes all the difference. MC's can make a night without a shadow of doubt (talking about all aspects of MC oreintated music)
I have a Gallery tape from ninety two and everyone round my end absolutly buzz's off the tape for the mc'in and tunes its so good.
Go to the big Hardcore nights now and its the mc's that steal the show. But yet again if I was at hazy i wouldnt want to here an mc there as its them type of tunes which all comes back to this board 88' 91' lovers mainly. It all depends on what your into, me personnally im happy with most stuff.I could not like an mc one night at an event then like another at another event.
Bottom line is 'Different strokes for Different Folks'

I might be biased because the only mc's that i've ever seen at hardcore and house nights (91-93) were shit and didn't deserve to hold a mic. They weren't mc's because they weren't 'mic controllers'!

I love the 'real' MC's - i've got probably a couple of thousand hip hop records.

They should watch '8 Mile', any old hip hop movie, or go to a hip hop/drum & bass gig to see how it should be done properly :p

Best MC's I ever heard were Ratpack.

I was absolutely dreading hearing them, but they, and they alone (imo) are the only decent MC's.

Why?

They know how to MC. ;)

They DO NOT MC over the piano break
They DO NOT MC over the vocals
They DO NOT repeatedly announce "808 State, manchester, yeah, make some noise, put your hands in the air"

Instead they sang, and MC'd over the parts of the records DJ's would normally mix out of, into another tune, which was spot on.

No other MC has ever done that, and that's what annoys me about them.

MC Lou as many of you like her, does my head in, as she "sings" over the vocals of the tunes, what is the point in that? It's so annoying, as you want to hear the original vocals, not her ramblings :naughty:

im like herpes....never quite fcuk hoff!!!
jammer, i do and dont agree with you on the mc lou score,

at sully's tsunami do she was quite good, didnt overdo it and got the crowd goin as it was a pretty crap turn out.

then i saw her at gt with maddox and it was TOOOO much :S it got a bit repetative and the 2 just clashed, in my opinion 2 together should bounce of each other not clash.

some peeps would disagree.

now RATPACK!!!

diffo kettle of fish, think it was when they did castle donnington  years ago they rocked, never heard it live only on cd and i thought they was brill, bet it was 100% better live, the feel of the atmosphere etc....

"i can feel another ruuuuush comin on"

(sos just had to do that.....................i'll get me coat) :$

Dont mind MC's me as long as they are decent and can "roll" with the Dj as in MCing in time to the beats/breaks and as peeps mentioned not over piano breakdowns, scratchin etc!

Best MC's 4 me:

Ratpack !! :)

I love ratpack ( and have seen them live bout 15 times if not more in the past 8 years ) . .

they are excellent and ALWAYS rock the crowd , but every time ive seen them the set has been more or less exaclty the same ( tunes and lyrics ) . . . . . . which is a bit dispointin imo , think theyd think of new rhmyes etc . . but i guess thats what there big for and its what ppl wanna hear from them

would still go see em again myself tho :) been a while since i have seen em
