Ye, Jonno's right. Sony, in their wisdom, made it as difficult as possible to transfer music / files into and out of the minidisc. btw Here's a workaround to record a mix onto the minidisc and get music onto your PC and make an MP3. 1) You may have to order the cable direct from sony. It's an optical to RCA stereo cable. I had to get mine from Sony USA but you should be able to get it from Sony UK or maybe radioshack. 2) Plug cable into mixers left and right channels and optical end into your minidisc line in. 3) Record 4) Buy a mini-jack to mini jack stereo cable.( i got mine from radioshack but other places sell them i'm sure.) 5) plug one end into your headphone sockect on minidisck and other end into your LINE IN jack on sound card. 6) "aquire" Nero 6 ultra edition. Open Nero soundtrax. Press record; then press OK; then select line-in from the drop down menu below "audio input line" 7) press play on minidisc and the record button below navigation in the nero recording console. 8) when it's finished select keep; then click file; then save as wav or mp3. Sony forget to mention you cant upload your music from minidisk to pc via USB because of copyright crap. But that is the workaround. :)
