The release you want is on Outer Rhythm cat# FOOT 15. The best mix is called the Woodtick mix (b-side is Low Spirit Mix I think). All based on personal opinion of course but that's the original mix that everyone used to play.

Have you got B-sides yet btw?

I think you'll find a lot of those mixes are the same, under bootleg names..Barracuda mix,I think will be the absolute original that is so far from the Woodtick mix by (DJ Dick/Westbam) that u wont recognise it..the woodtick is the primo...starts with a bootifull soft synth and kicks with a well recognised beat.
There is an EP,called "GO" the remixes...which is ofcourse, the best option.

The 'Rainforest mix' is my favourite, probably the hardest mix out of the lot of the 'Go' mixes. Has a big 'Phatt' hardcore synth sound!! Neeeeeryeeeeeeer (trying to word the synth sound) !!!!
The cover to the record is white, with 'Go' in big letters on the front (FOOT 15X)

The 'Video' mix is exactly what it says!! If you've ever seen the video to the tune 'Go' this is the mix used! If you ask me, it's near as damn it the same as the 'Woodtick' mix!! :D

The 'Analogue' mix Is what 'Glam - My mama said' sampled, pretty minimal, gone has the original mellow synth sound to the tune and the 1 key piano note and the piano riff half way thru! The tune is driven all the way thru by the analogue bassline with the samples poppin' up, 'Yehhh', 'Wha,wha, what' and 'GO', the beat is the same phased/flanged sound!! :rotate:

Never heard the 'Barracuda' mix, but I can tell you that Barracuda is Moby under a different name! Barracuda has done some pretty hard tunes, so, I'd gather this mix would be fair hard, then again, I could be wrong!
The tune 'Barracuda' did in the early 90's was 'Drug fits the face'!

Ah yes,but what wonderfull descriptions they were Biskit,I have Moby's 1st release album,"Early Underground" it has drug fits the face and a track called Barracuda.
As Barracuda,it appears he released an EP,by that name, featuring,(Partytime,Drug fits the face and B'cuda) theres also tracks from an EP called "Mobility" including the original GO,which is quite subliminal...
There was a "UHF" 12"...and the voodoo child 12",which I think is 1 of his best tracks...so he was a busy boy, even way back then...

The best part of this album is I picked it up in a pawn shop for $2 ozzie,I couldnt keep the smirk off my face while the chick took the small change I had in the ashtray.. :phones:

Awight peeps????

Ive asked this before................but...........PLEASE can someone confirm that there was a tape/albulm by MOBY back in 1991/1992 which got totally banned for usage of illegal samples.........

I remember seeing it in hmv at the time prior to it being recalled - one of the tracks was a truely excellent remake of one Michael Jacksons hits (Beat It). This was played on pete tongs essentail selection back in the day....................

Aaaaarrrrrrh, this haunts my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Cheers,

Sirius.

Yeah I remember the Beat It remix, it was on the B Side of one of the singles, I'm sure... I'll get back to you on this one, you have just jogged my memory but I'll get there in a while!

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhaaahhhhhh!!!. I hope u find it!. If someone knows about the 'missing' albulm that would be great too.

I must admit its been over 10 years since I heard that 'beat it' tune, but I loved it at the time and it never ever ever ever gets played or mentioned anywhere!!!!!!!!!. I thought I was just imagining its existance :).

Thanks Mike,

Sirius.

Right then, just found an extensively geeky moby discography which can be downloaded from

http://www.mobymusic.com/collectors/index.htm

Turns out that the jacko remix was actually released on one of the Michael Jackson singles so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Can't find anything about your mystery album though.

I must admit I hate Moby these days, think he is an arrogant little arsehole, although he's forgiven for having made Go, Next is the E, and the UHF and Voodoo Child stuff as well......... These days he just makes music for car adverts :(

Aww c'mon...ya cant hate him for that..he's still making music in his own style, the fact that he's so talented leads to his commercialism,he makes good music, now,if you want to hate some1 for selling hate, hate THE PRODIGY,the sell out bitches they are...now theres a group that pander to the market!

I thought that the Moby mix of Beat It came out - there was loads of remixes done of all the MJ classics done by Moby, Brothers In Rhythm and Roger Sanchez (amongst others) - they were on the b-side of all the singles that he was releasing at the time - I am sure that Beat It was on the b-side of Jam. Also its on the sountrack to Zoolander (dunno if it is on the album but its deffo in the film)
