My colleague has just told me that some people have to put pound coins into their tele just to watch it for four hours or so. Is this really serious? What a rip off

That was the 70's/80's though
but we used to skank it, open the box with a pair of sharp scissors and drop a 50p into it over n over again to watch mega loads of tv, but when the man used to come and collect the money we had to dodge him
I remember someone had this a few years ago - it was a box on the wire between the plug and the telly - which they quickly cut and rewired so they did not need to pay - never really got my head round why (the TV rental place) bothered - it was so easy to get round:S
