I got grief tonight from my neighbour across the road....she drove her audi tt up the kerb and hit a stone id put there to stop cars from driving over the grass.....and then told me a million times how her much her car had been damaged

Lesson learned....if you want to go off-roading, get a tank not a sports car, or learn how to drive on the tarmac!

And all she was getting was a pint of milk..... M

The story has gone now.

I got stuck heading to work in Blackburn on friday :$ I was following the satnav to Meins Road and it took me along Westgates Road, before I lost traction from the wheels and arrived at a padlocked gate blocking me from heading down it:p

The lady in a neighbouring house tried to help by bringing what she thought was the key to the padlock, but said it's going to hurt my car if I proceed, but someone must have changed the lock anyway, so I rang Blackburn council and they said it was a private road. Then I rang Green Flag and they wanted £90 to send a 4x4 recovery vehicle:naughty:

The road was reminiscent of a damp but not cascading waterfall lower down with the steepness of the road and the craggy surface. Definitely one for vehicles with undercarriage clearance underneath, with a key to the padlock and probably downhill only if it's damp or from autumn onwards.

I was working at the house of one of our main clients and he was going to bring a bolt cutter for the padlock. I guess if the residents think the road belongs to the council and the council claims it's private, and there's no sign to indicate that it's impassable, then I guess anybody getting stuck has the right to demolish the gate and if I had an old 4x4 I wasn't bothered about I think I would have if I couldn't get back up;)

The Mitsubishi 4x4 rescue vehicle that came to my assistance got stuck on this road for a few minutes too:lol:

It looks innocuous enough on the map woodgates ROAD, BLACKBURN - Google Maps

Turns out it was just down a side road of the Woodlands pub that i'd been to many times before:$

 I know, but it didn't register at the time. If i'd known it was just off Preston Road before setting off i'd have looked again at the sat nav:p

Yep, those leaves are slippier than they look:p

After i'd reclipped the cable from the 4x4, after it had readjusted it's position after getting stuck, I got back in my car and was overpowered by a sickly smell. I thought I must have trodden in something, but I soon discovered I had a load of dog shit on my knee:cry: After stroking a few dogs and playing with them while waiting for the recovery truck, I was now ready to rugby kick the next one over someones fence:mad:

It must have taken me a good 10 minutes of crawling afterwards to get the shit off and the smell was horrible:(
