I aint the best with PCs :dummy: , probably real easy solution to this :$ ... I hope!

To play music I was using Windows Media player but have just downloaded WinAmp as I thought I might have a problem with Media player.

Iv only a handfull of music files recorded to me PC, the majority are MP3s but have a few wavs.

Iv a couple of problems:

1. When I rename a file it says something like file may become unstable. When I go ahead and rename it it wont play :(

2. How do you record/save a CD to your hardrive. I thought you just go into your CD drive and copy n paste it to the file you want it in. This aint workin.

Thanks n sorry for bein so dumb

Why are you renaming it? Always make sure you keep the .mp3 at the end of the file anyway.

You wont want to be saving files from a CD on your drive cause they are in WAV format and massive, convert them to mp3 first.

Hope that helps.

Whats the best way to convert them to MP3.

I have Soundforge & Nero.. would I open it in say soundforge then save it an MP3.

One more question.

How do I rip stuff that is played online, say one of these Internet Radio Stations?

I take it I will need a program to do this?

U need some streaming software recorder like total recorder, have a mooch for something free on cnet.com not sure what is anymore as i`ve not used in ages, only other option is to crack it but if u not done that before i would give it a miss.

Same goes with converter there is loads of WAV-Mp3 and vice versa out there just do a search on same site. Soundforge does it though.

Any questions let me know.
