msn file transfers

Having a problem receiving mp3 files over msn. My pc is blocking them as unsafe. I've tried changing my firewall settings and my internet/outlook settings to no avail.

Anyone any advice as to how to sort it?

Think it might have something to do with the new 7.0 if thats the version your using it happened to me when i got it and i`ve not tried since.

There is a patch to unlock it, but all i`ve done past is zipped them up in winrar and sent them that way.

there is an unofficial patch

easier for the sender to rename file to a spurious extension and then rename upon receipt

Thanks for the replies. I've found a patch and will try to grab the file again tomorrow. If that fails will rename the extension.
