my first rave

did anyone go to this rave...live the dream in blackburn, 16th september, 1989? i think dream frequency made a song about it .....or if you didn't what was the first one you went to(if you still have the flyer...please post if possible)

My flyer has got blu tack marks on the same as you Grover All mine have in fact.

Unfortunately never made it to Live The Dream which was annoying since it was more or less the closest a rave (and a massive one at that) has ever been to my house I didn't have £15 for a ticket, although really I should have at least gone there and tried diving over the fence (or wall as it turned out - in fact the wall has never been repaired where they drove the first artic though). It's was definitely 89 btw.

My first rave was one of the Blackburn warehouse do's. One at Church to be precise. No flyer unfortunately, I don't think there were any for it.

My first flyered rave would probably be Brave New World. I'll scan it in after.

hehe......i remember my car getting stuck in the mud when we were leaving live the dream......two of the security fellas offered to help and gave me a push.....several wheelspins later the car started moving....i looked in my rear view mirror and seen two huge mud monsters ....i just waved and got off sharpish....they didn't look too pleased ....tune of the night for me was jungle crew - electric dance played by paul trouble anderson

It all started for me in 1989 at a Weekender in Prestatyn, Wales.
Adeva was on live and there was loads of DJ's.

What always sticks in my mind is a DJ mixing "Hey Hey we're the monkeys" into a house track;

Oh, and my first taste of 3, 4 Me.....

it all started for me wen i used to go to acid house nites on a wed nite at a local club, there would only be about 50 of us in there! lol white gloves and smiley t shirts! (and how bizarre, i met the guy i went there with at denvers on sat:$ omg, talk about blast from the past! lol)
a tab and 2 wraps and u were happy!
wasnt long before i started goin away at weekends, in walked love doves and hacketts

Good idea for a thread

My first rave was M.V.I.T.A (manchester vibes in the area) 808 State and a few others I'd not heard of (and can't remember) at King Georges Hall, Blackburn, 1990 (around May I think)

I'd won tickets to it on Key 103, and myself and mate went down, we had no plans on how we'd get back, as we'd got a train down there from Manchester, heh it was a crackin' night, and I always remember Al-fonso going on and on with himself "all me lions and me lionesses, come in, come over" the mad bugger..

Had to sleep on the floor outside Blackburn train station, as it didn't open till 10am the next day (a sunday) so we took it in turns 'guarding' each other while one slept, as there were a few tramps around that kept coming up and down past us.
