I have had this problem wit a few monitors at work and all i did was either re install the drivers for it which ya will find on the net or chnage the refresh rate which is an option on the monitor itself or in display properties.

my monitor hasnt been switched off in 5 years, always on standby

and as for Micro Direct i know every f**ker that works there and thats where its originally from!
