got trolleyed all weekend maxi and had a footy match yesterday which saw three mates yacking in the first 5 mins. great to see you mate. good luck with that last interview. Basically even though my pc came with win 95 and usb sockets it seems usb isn't supported in 95! so i'm fucked. i have wins 98 cd but no way to back up hardrive aarrgggg

why not just install 98 over 95 windows installation, sure you'll loose your desktop stuff, and will have to re-install most stuff... But downloaded stuff and mp3's will still be there

Or you could try the dreaded 'upgrade to win98 installation' :/

theres a patch aint there for win95 - usb isnt there? been years since i dabbled with it but im sure i remember a patch. might b worth lookin into

Yes there's a service pack for it which adds USB compatibility cos I had the same problem a few years back, whether its still available off the microsoft site I dunno though

got all ready and then it said windows cannot be updated by this version you need windows 98 upgrade

Best bet then is to start from scratch with the win98 bootdisk and just overwrite the whole 'windows' folder when you install it...

PS. Make sure you download all the Win98 drivers, like network card, display and sound before you do this!!!
