[QUOTE="sirius, post: 371760, member: 258"] Try and be brief as poss :). Networking not working. Ie Net(not)working, lol. Network, 6 computers: 4 run win 98se, one server runs win2000 pro, one is dual boot win98/XP Pro. My computer is the dual boot. Upon installing XP it informed me that my etherlink card was incompatable with Windows and had to be replaced - I have done this today and filled in my IP adress as it was before - 192.168.100.04 and a submask of the default internal 255.255. etc. Ive run the XP wizzard on the XP computer, and also the wizzard floppy disc it makes to run on older computers, on every computer but the win2000 server as it wouldnt let me as its only for win95/98/98se/Me. This, I hoped, would be it - but nope, the computer still cant be seen. Ive shared out a hard disk partition etc, and most other easy flaws I usually fall down on. I cocked up on the network configuration, as I called the workgroup "Network 1" like I had written down, but it was infact "Network1" without a space.......so now, on all the 98 machines I have two browsable sub networks which will confuse the other bloke's no end!. Anyway, some of the machines are browsable on both, yet my machine is missing from any!. Any ideas peeps? I know its a tall order. (btw, I have now got two network cards in my machine, is this bad?. also, the old card did work in win98 but not in winxp - I could browse the network on the old card when I was in win98, Im not sure if I can with the new card yet) Sirius.
