New Beat rocks especially the harder acid end of the spectrum. Ive got a friend who has always worshiped the genre and only now am I realy getting it as like most people I dismissed Belgium and Dutch releases (apart from a few obvious tracks) as a bit out there with too much crap to be bothered in sorting out the good from the bad.

thx for the link man - I always loved the Belgian sound - a lot of the stuff I was into originally on XL -The Second Chapter turned out to be New Beat influenced or actual ex members of New Beat bands :).

I made a mix a while back (in Ableton Live - not with decks :s) - if New Beat and the type of hardcore I think it influenced which can be downloaded here:

raytrace - Belgian New Beat and Hardcore Mix - SoundCloud

I've also got a New Beat group set up on Soundcloud:

Belgian New Beat - Tracks - SoundCloud

there actually are some 'new' songs in the group done in a New Beat style.
Anywayz, thanks for the link - I think New Beat's influence on european hardcore is constantly not appreciated enough.
