But thats not mi moan. I went from DJ`n new music to DJ`n old skool because i allways used to drop classix into my sets,as time went on all i got asked for was old skool. I`d play an £8:99 brand new buy and get no reaction, play a piano anthem and the place went mad (PS the anthem might of cost £2 offa Ebay, and most of them i had from DJ`n way back). I still go to the odd night thats doing the new thing, but all i see is a DJ playing CDR`s to a room of 20 other DJ`s who stand around nodding because the DJ knows his stuff. This track was number one in the download chart at dinner time and he`s playing it ! now if it was number one at breakfast time they`d all be shaking their heads in disgust. My point is DJ`s playing now a days seem to have forgotten they are ment to be playing to a crowd, they are ment to be `throwing a party`,they are ment to be making people dance and enjoy themselves. the soulfull funky scene is the worst, its seems to be so stuck up music snobbery, now i`m not saying all these DJ`s are but on the whole thats what it seems like AND more and more soulful/funky clubs are shutting down. I know the internet and technology aint done the dance scene any favours, but if DJ`s put the party back into clubbing, then they clubs might fill up.
I`m gonna have a moan now, just to see if its just me that thinks like this. OK DJ/Producer, been DJ`n on and off for years. I tried to do the `upfront` DJ thing for a bit and it was just so `blahhhhhhh` specially with MP3`s and tracks been `hot` for like 1 day and then summert else been out. at least with vinyl it took a few months to be so last `meal time`. DJ to people not to get recognition from other DJ`s.............................. There Rant over, i feel better now !!!!!!! hahahahaha !!!!!! PS: apolojiz for the bad spolling and the scruffy handwriting !
