new laptop , need a free avi to dvd burner software

Been a while since i made any dvds and have basically forgotten how to do it, im after a software that will encode an avi file and then burn it to a blank dvd disc , had one before that was easy to use but again have forgotten what it was called , any help appreciated ,many thanks pete.

Hi m8 if your wanting DVD complientvsobit works on all DVD players then the best proggy out there is convertxtodvd makes awesome quality DVDs in like 40 minz on my pc.

Also if you got a ps3 or xbox360 they will play back avi files as standard.
