Yes there are loads of rip offs but to the older crew they are done very tongue in cheek, to the new kids they often have the same effect that they did when we first heard the originals years ago.
While i agree with the negative comments about the breaks scene im gonna go on the side of supporting it lol. Reason being i see it as the new 'hardcore'. I went to a festival called the Glade in the summer of last year and they were hosting a tent soley for breakz. Every breakz dj imginable played there over the three days and i must say i fukkin loved it. Yes there are loads of rip offs but to the older crew they are done very tongue in cheek, to the new kids they often have the same effect that they did when we first heard the originals years ago. The thing that clinched it for me was when a sat back and watched the way that the crowd were reacting to the music, it reminded me of an old school rave. this is the first time in ages that there has been a soundtrack that crosses genres and appeals to the youth. Id much rather it than R+B as people get there heads down and dance to this stuff for the right reasons, it rocks the joint. As for no girls well ive been to many and never seen a shortage of women there;) Although i agree with Grover about the way that it kills some good tunes i would also add that there are some killer new tunes/djs out there to be heard also. I think we should embrace any new music that is keepin the ethos of what it was all about alive rather than go down the road that many prog heads have and make it boring and no fun. ;)
