The " tire fesse " as they are called are just about the hardest thing on a snow board. Normaly they will give you a little sky to pu on before you can go up them, but in case they don't, you ahve to take one shoe off and try to balance the board on the way up.
If you have never skyied, you are going to hurt yourself with a snow board! I recommend that you try it out first, and maybe a couple of lessons would be a good idea! I have skied for 11 years, and I have to say that the snowboard is HARD!
A tip when you fall, never on the side! That will hurt your hips for weeks, and may even strop you walking for a while!
Try out the baby slops first. Buy a skate board and learn to use it correctly then you will be ok, but bear in mind that oyu are tied to it!
Make sure that the safety cog ( the thing that unlocks your boot from the board) is correctly configured before you go out. Because if it isn't, then if you fall the board will twist / brake your ankle /leg / both!!!!!
Never do more then 2 hours at a time! Take a break it is a VERY demanding sport! DON'T EVER SKY WITHOUT SUNSPECS!!!!!!!! even if you are not skying WEAR THEM! I have known people have HUGE eye problems because of this! Wear suntan lotion ( the more colours the better I always say!
A little cheat. If you decid to wear jeans ( like me
) Pop some long johns on underneath.... they prevent you being burn from the friction and they are nice and warm!
NEVER SKY ON YOUR OWN! always 3 people. If pone falls, one stays and the other gets help!
Now that you are well advised... HAVE FUN!!!
I'm going the week after you
