No older brother's feeding me electro tapes after tea here... Used to listen to Essex Radio, and got onto John Leech's Soul and Dance show, not a lot of house, but plenty of grooves.... then there was Atlantic 252 - seem to remember a dance show on there? Started finding pirate stations and got hooked - the bedroom aspect of the pirates fascinated me - I guess that was the influence of good old Citizens Band :$ who were these people? Still need to rip the tapes, but you can imagine what London station reception was like near Southend... not good. Still didn't get on to the major ruggage that workmates were doing though - Saturday mornings at the supermarket stacking shelves and these lads would finish their loads early...they'd fill the fruit n veg in record time... bit quick eh lads? :fekked:

anyway.... enough about me.....lol

what got you into the scene?

was'nt Kermit of Black Grape and ruthless rap assasins fame part Broken Glass
For me I was into New Order and Depeche Mode (always have been, always will be)
Then it was Stu Allan on the radio, sunday nights were ace on key 103, iq with pete mitchell 1st then stu. Then as soonas I could get into clubs it was of to the hac and maximes, funny how by this time maximes was playing better music than the hac, had less d1cks in there and was more busy. Thats the world famous hac for ya LOL

When was that though? 97?

As by then they'd both be shite imo lol :D

Why the Hac was world famous was before all that though, way back when Madonna performed there and throughout the early funk/electro nights with Greg Wilson, then the House era, after 92/93 it all turned to steaming piss and the gangs took over the place.

round about 97 mate, but Maximes was fukkin mint, for me with about 50 peeps from Newton Heath I had the best nights out of my life. So what if was'nt one of these supercool trendy clubs or the hac in 89. It was mint and it changed my life:thumbsup:
