also

lots of samples from blue velvet

was watching super fly the other day and heard "think about it, just think about it" from was not was:- papa was a rolling stone.

the warriors was sampled by dj rap on divine rhythm.

BBR StreetGang - Loyal To You - Tony Montana
Tony G - Tony's Song - Montana again I think
Jeep Style - If There's A Cure - Eddie Murphy
Yello - Unbelievable - Dice Clay / Ford Fairlane - Cop out this as it is on the soundtrack, but it leads nicely into.....

.....I remember some mad track I heard someone play once that had some Andrew "Diceman" Clay vocals on it. Like a nursery rhyme I think, something about "curds and whey". Never did track down that tune, or find out what it is for that matter. ID it anyone??

I think you're right there dude, just dug it out and had a listen. The pella is a bit of a give away as it only passes as Pacino with beats behind it. Didn't recognise half the words from the film either, but then my name aint Barry Norman!

Tony's Song is not a sample -it is an impersonator.

ANd some of the dialougue is paraphrased and inspired by the film.

One of my favourite tunes BUT HTFR are selling it for £100 - you can pick it up in most shops for just over a £10.

And a sad confession my olderse daughter is named

Antonia Montana

Here`s my fave...

"Don`t be afraid"
as sampled from Logan`s run by Evolution.

Some more...

loads of bits from Poltergiest
Sampled by Earth leakage trip for No idea.

"he`s gonna get you, gonna get you"
as sampled from Halloween by the Bogey man for horrors (Chill records)

"Twenty thousand hardcore members" - Messiah
"Can you dig it" - That kid Chris
"who are the warriors" - MC Wildski
all from the warriors (loads more from that speech at the beginning - its been ripped to threads)

"right here, right now"
From strange days as sampled by Fatboy Slim

Always wanted to know what film DJ Casonova (R&S records) sampled for that "You`ll die when you die" bit before that massive cybersonic style fart noise comes in.
