Old skool to me is just the music from the era.

I'd imagine that an old skool night is an attempt at recreating the sounds and vibe of the era.

An old skool dj, is one who dj's at said nights and attempts to recreate the vibe of the era.

And an old skool artist is one of the creators of the music that we refer to as old skool.

That's my view anyway!
