Does this actually work? I know theres reviews, but loads of gizmo's have them so its no real guarantee. Its only cheap though, but you know, is there any known dangers with the tech heads here?

One thing I didnt like is that it runs your webpages and emails through thier software at thier enf to compress it..... could this be used to track surfing habits and intercept mail content? It says it has no spyware - but with system of operating it wouldnt need to!

My dad is only on dialup and really needs faster, but doesnt particularly need broadband and his office space uses some wierd call thing which may/maynot be convertable anyway. So, is it a good thing, or is it just a gimmick and/or potential nightmare?

Cheeps peeps

not got any techie answers but i wouldnt touch it, as you said it will only compress images ect, alot of web images are poor quality anyway and this will make it worse.

There was another company offer this sort of software a few months ago and it was getting people to sign up for free so beta testing could start and loads of forums were screaming scam ect. (cant think of the website name thought)

hmmmmm

compression on the fly?

rare to find anything that is half decent

they cache as much as possible then burst it down your line compressed - you have a decompression unit the other end (which in this case, sounds like it is a soft-decomp)

all in all, you'll prob get more trouble than its worth - prob good for business peeps looking to send emails from mobile setups, but that's about it
