Read this book while I was in Vegas! [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0753820773/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=0297849034&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=1NQMHPKFRYQ4S3F1DJMH]The Man Behind the Shades: The Rise and Fall of Stuey 'The Kid' Ungar, Poker's Greatest Player: Amazon.co.uk: Nolan Dalla: Books[/ame] Amazing read, read the last 1/3 of it on the plane home as I was so hooked! Hahaha. It's about this guy named Stuey Ungar whose Father owned a bar-cum-gambling establishment and that's where he got his interest in cards from. This guy had an AMAZING talent with cards and also reading people so was truely gifted at gin rummy and, eventually, poker which he picked up quickly, with ease. His Father did not approve of gambling and when Stuey's Father died, it lifted the lid on his card playing and he eventually dropped out of school. Stuey mingled with the mob and had such a talent for playing cards that they took him to Vegas where his addiction to gambling/his career really kicked off. He won The World Series of Poker 3 times and is also the only person to win Amarillio Slim's Super Bowl of Poker three times, the world's second most prestigious poker title during its time amongst many other high-end tournaments and won millions (they said about $32million) in his career, yet died at the age of 45 with hardly a penny to his name after gambling it all away, as well as a massive drug habit. Defo worth a read, so sad and interesting!!! :D  x
