Just having a flick through the channels and am fookin horrified that yet another one of my favourite oldskool tunes have been ripped to shreds by some cheesy dance act, whom the name escapes me.

There should be laws in place against this sheet :eyebrow:

It's sounds quite funky but then they've got the obligatory DJ Sammy, or whatever he's called, sounding vocals and have chucked in a vid with lots of girls in short skirts for extra measure - yawn!!

Wouldn't say it's one of the more popular oldskool tunes either that gets hammered all the time. Somewhere.... there's some german geezer with a pony tail sat by his PC ticking them off one by one

tis a tune.
When will people realise that these tunes are made for the kids goin out today who have no idea what the original Patti Day is and because it never gets played any more they are not gonna know what it is.
In todays climate that is a good tune and will get the dancefloor rockin

i presume its the 'southside hustlers-right before my eyes(mark knight and martijn ten velden remix)' tune your on about, and it isnt really a bad tune, but its a shame that the majority of young ppl will of heard this without realising its a cover, and they rightly so think its amazing.Fortunately for me ive had the pleasure of hearin the patti day(house vocal mix) first,in a healy set i think, and then after hearing the cover u think to yourself: "not a bad effort but why the fuck dont they just leave it alone?"after all, its pretty much the same.(there doin this to as many good old skool tunes as they can nowadays and its rediculous really)

this tunes actually been knockin about for a few years now(paul taylors caned it at retro) and while im always happy to hear it i still regret not hearing the original.

but then again this raises another issue, which is the commercialisation of good somewhat underground music. Some nites you to go because you know youll only hear certain tunes on that nite, then the next morning ther on fuckin galaxy!not only that but ther being included in 'new' dance compilations and cos the kiddies r luvin them get hammered then it gets to the point you dont even want to hear the original anymore and its spoilt the tune for you.

i think the tune ur on bout is
cosmic love vs liquid and ce ce rogers-sweet harmony
-thinks its a booty, its pretty much a mash up with remix of someday followed by sweet harmony, but its hard to tell the difference without knowing the sepearate tunes cos obviously they use the same vocals

That Re-work will NEVER spoil the Patti Day original for me-One of my favourites. I agree with you when you say 'why don't they leave it alone', but there's no doubt that the younger generation of clubbers will love it at Retro etc.....Where there's money to be made, it will keep on happening...A shame but true!!!
