Hi,

My fella bid on an iphone on ebay. the reserve was not met thru the bidding, so he offered him 185 for it-which the guy accepted. The transaction when through my paypal (his was being weird)...and it wasn't thru ebay.

Im just wondering what would happen if the item didn't turn up. The phone was listed on ebay, but not sold through it. Do paypal have their own insurance things in place. We have all the correspondance to prove the sale.

They do but it depends on the status of the seller.

If he was fully confirmed and the goods do not arrive you may have a claim against Paypal but there are time limits - check their terms and conditions.

If you used a credit card you may also have a claim against the card issuer if the goods do not turn up but this is not so simple as you did not pay direct - check with your card issuer. If you used a debit card you have no claim against the card issuer.

their time limit is 28 days I think, you get ya cash back off paypal then they bill the seller and add charges to them if they dont pay
