Performing a word count in word?

Im running on an older system that doesnt do this auto for me, im trying to suss out how to count the words in certain paragraphs on a job application form but cant quite suss out how to do it if possible at all?

Any help greatly appreciated

Which version of Word is it Debs?

In Word 2000, click Tools, Word Count.
If you want it to only count part of yer doc, highlight the relevant bit first.
If it's text inside a table cell & that stops the word count working, you can always copy & paste it into a new empty doc then run word count on that.

Havnt a clue hun what version it is but i cant find a word count tool in the tools menu either?

Right click on the toolbar area at the top & choose customize. Put a checkmark against "Always Show Full Menus".
Then Word Count should show on the Tools menu
