Right this is a bit trivial, but i was curious to see what people think anyway.

If you go out for a meal, do you think its okay to have a pint on the table, i have asked 2 freinds this evening and both gave completley different answers, one said she would be horrified if a bloke did that- the other said it was fine.

If its okay for men then should women get a pint in too, or ladies- do you already do this? :)

Half pints if you are 5'5 or shorter ;)

but at the end of the day its personal preference. sometimes shite service calls for a bit of the blues brothers 'how much for your daughter. The one with the pigtails' etiquette. Sometimes decent red meat just begs for a decent chateau neuf du pape (rhone valley btw). but I only like white that is basically red in body like a chablis. There is nothing wrong with lager. ever.

If I'm in a posh gaff..I'd have wine with me meal, but still have me pint on the table as well' just incase I get somat stuck in my throat an it needs somat with a bit more substance than wine to wash it down.

an as more birds n pints...I much prefere a girl who drinks pints...cos then I don't have to go to the feckin bar as often!

i dont mind a pint evey now and then, usuallly drink alcopops in sitcuations like that tho. but then again, if i am out for a meal, i generally drink coke, cause i have a lot of salt on my food and have to drink a lot and if it was wine or summat then think i would b really drunk, also considerin that it takes a mere 2 glasses of wine to have me rollin on the floor wonderin whats goin on lOl

but.........u want a pint, go for it!!!!!!!

Im sorry Amelie, but im afraid I would probably sit there quite satisfied with a pint on the table, even a bottle or two with no glass! lol.
I wouldnt drink anything only becuase it is 'expected' in some sort of moral social code or whatever, but thats becuase Im common northerner scum

Why would it be wrong to have a pint glass on the table? Its a legal measure of fluid isnt it?. Why would the people you ask say its wrong? I dont really understand. Is it a extension of shock, horror, using the DESERT spoon as the SOUP spoon? hahahaha. And if its about 'looking right' in the restaurant, who is so up themselves they thing the entire restaurant is looking at thier table?

Id just have the lager in any way it arrived, or if we had to wait for a table and had been sat at the bar, Id take my pint to the table, finish it and see what arrives when I order another drink. If somebody ordered wine for the table, Id have it aslomg it aint red! lol.

Ill just scrape my knuckles on the floor as I go out......:D

Lol If I wanted a pint Id have a pint, its the same as going to a really grotty pub and having a glass of chardonnay, if I want one I'll have one. I also wouldnt be dictated by social surroundings as to what I can or cannot drink ;)
