hello

my mixer is only throwing the correct sound out of the left speaker whilst the right is much quieter as if the bass has gone. i have narrowed the problem down to the mixer. does anybody know if this is a simple fix or am i looking at a having to buy a new mixer? i presume something has gone inside the mixer.

any advice is appreciated

thanks

Many questions such as....

What is the mixer?
Does it happen on both channels or just one side?
If one side, do check phono cables from decks as they do go off and break down
Do the pots crackle when moved etc?

Only expensive mixers are worth repairing however I would always have a go with a screwdriver, clean cloths and maplin switch cleaner just to see if a basic service inside the mixer helps.

Hi mate

It's a pioneer djm 250 wired with xlr cables. I thought it was a speaker problem at first but swapping the cables ruled that out. It does it whether using vinyl or off the computer. Put simply it just seems like it's sending a weak signal to the right speaker almost like the right speaker bass has blown. I've not even had it that long its a bummer! I think the electronics have gone in it but I'm clueless tbh.

The service centre want £30 to look at it. Given I can barely wire a plug this might be the way forward but I can't say I'm impressed with pioneer. You would think they would repair it for free to preserve their reputation. Certainly won't be buying pioneer if I do have to get another, it's never really blown me away I think it's more for cd decks

Cheers

I personally think Pioneer mixers are great and still have my 15year old DJM500 running like new and has never needed any attention.

Run it down the service centre as worth £30 to look over it.
