First of all thanks to all those that have taken the time to reply and help me out of this sticky situation. Especially Jammer who i spoke to on the old dog and bone. The problem was caused when i realised there was little room to slide the hard drive in its bay so i released the clip on the cooler to give me mpre space and as i understood it the cpu should have been attached to the board. Well i was wrong, the cpu was welded to the cooler so when i released the clip it brought it unseated it. I was a little unsure about how to get the cpu off the coller as it was well stuck on and i assumed (wrongly) that if i placed the cooler back on where it should the cpu would reseat. Obviously it didnt and hence my prob. Up until now i hadn't really messed about with cpu's and mobo's so was in unchartered territory but i took it to the local pc shop who managed to unstick the cpu and reseat it for me without causing any damage to it. So its all working fine now. But i have learnt something new anyways. Thanks again Andy
