PS2 Online gaming help needed

Hi Folks,

Does anyone know what you need to play games online with the ps2? I got the direct cable lead but i heard you need something like a router??? Does anyone know what I should get or would any old router do????

have u had a look in the ps2 manual m8? i think i remember u gotta connect it upto a router but apart from ive no idea =/ tried looking on the sony website? they might tell u something about it
