PS3 Vs XBox......

OK, currently got a Wii, great for the kids, but I get very dissapointed with the quality of the graphics when running it through the 42" 1080P plasma.

So,upgrade needed, just can't decide which way to turn.

Liking the idea of blue ray DVD through the ps3 as I love a good film and need a new DVD player, whats ya' thoughts, ps3 or Xbox and why?

initially i chose an xbox because they were cheaper than the ps3
some of my friends have a ps3 and tbh i prefer my xbox.
the controlls, the choice of games and accessories, the graphics and gameplay.

If you want a blu ray player and more of a media centre than a gaming console i would get a ps3 but if you want a GAMES CONSOLE with top gameplay and more game titles and top graphics then its the 360 all the way

xbox are very good for online play and in my opinion the gameplay is better on the xbox than the PS3, the 360 doesnt seem as sluggish when playing first person shoot em ups. slightly cheaper option, although you do pay for online gaming about £5 a month. so works out about the same after a year or so. Xbox also got a far bigger catalogue of games out to choose from.

The PS3 though is a far better machine if you want more than just gaming. the graphics are better, its free to play online, blue ray player. also stream wirelessly from your PC music, films, pics, also got BBC iplayer that lets stream content from that. i also find that the PS3 has slightly slower loading times for the games.

its a close call between them both but you wont be dissapointed with either.

I was very disappointed with the PS3's graphics on a 24" 1080p screen. Even though the games say 1080p on the back, they don't run in that resolution. GTA4 was terrible, running in a native 640p if I remember rightly. I assume the 360 will be the same. Bluray was great, but I traded it in against some CDJs. HD gaming my arse, lol I'll stick to the PC

lol i know mate, i paid monthly instead of annually, So i got fleeced by microsoft lol, but thats the normal monthly rate, but as you said you can get loads cheaper than what i paid.

I have a pretty good PC that will run games, perhaps I should stick to this and keep watching my films on the Fergusson Video Star top loader!!

Mmmm, decisions, decisions, but I do need a new DVD and blu-ray is the way forward, but 360 proving favourable for gaming, bring back the Atari 2600, pole position is awsome!!

i had the 360. when it 1st came out. i paid the online subsciption.....(monthly). i had it for about 4 months then sold it ....it took me another 4 months to clear my datails of the hard drive..lol... i opted for the ps3 soley for 1 game........formula 1..........(sad i know) but if ur a true gamer, you need the 360 . enjoy.
