Cant do without my smoook alarm - I wouldnt know when my tea was ready then!!

:D :D :D :D
I'm with you on that one Dannster!!

As for batteries, the pound shop in oldham have an excellent selection of batteries. You can get 4 duracell or about 20 unknown brand ones for a pound but they wont keep your rabbit drumming for long so I would go for the duracell!!

Yeah, u wanna get batteries in dem smoke alarms peeps...

But can anyone explain "WHY, OH WHY, OH WHY" that when the batteries run down and your smoke alarms make that funny "PIP" 'pick' noise once every now and again its *ALWAYS* in the middle of the night!!!!!????.

Every time - 3.00 am, "blip" (subconsiously aware of some sort of noise but think youre dreaming it).
3.15 am "blip" (you release you cant be dreaming and sort of half wake up wondering what the fek that noise could be). Go back to sleep.
4.15 am 'Blip' ("Right what the fekkin hells that noise!" then you realise its the smoke alarm again.....)
4.20 am You nearly neck yourself clambering on a chair balancing on a stack of magazines or a table (which is always decidedly unstable) trying to take the fekking batteries out so you can get back to bloody sleep!!!....

Mind you, given the choice of a few hours sleep loss or burning to death (and my lovely record collection being turned into one MUTHA of an ash tray) then a few hours sleep loss it is!!!!.

See ya

Sirius.

Chav-ville Droylsden, innit!
LOL, sirius - the poor thing's probably been beeping all day, but you don't notice it until 3am because that's around the time you stop playin yer tunes at full volume, and decide to get some shut-eye!

Pesky sleep gets in the way of everything!

In the last house I lived in there were 3 floors, so it was rather too big. Their was a mystery noise (sort of bleeping) which did my head in 24/7 for MONTHS.

Turned out to be the bloody battery warning on the SMOKE ALARM.

Yeah. its that bloody 'mystery noise' what Im on about. You know, when we first got smoke alarms in house years ago and the batteries ran out for the first time....we spent ages checking every piece of equipment in the house for the noise!!!. You never think its something attached to the ceiling!!!.
You ever used an (BBC) Acorn Electron??(late 80's eary 90's) There was this game on it which made that exact same 'pick'/blip noise....think it was citadel or evil weavels or sommet.

We ended up not sussing it out till the day after....

CAnt imagine living with it for months like that!!!!! must have made you insane Pacman :)

Yeah, I used to play Evil Weavels all the time. One of my faves was Chuckie Egg though....Gisburns'Castle, Jet Pack Jack, Smash 'n' Grab, Citadel, Ye Ar Kung Fu, Gauntlet, Kissin'Kousins, Frogger etc used to while many hours away!!!!!...(after spending hours trying to sucessfully load the games from cassette tape cos the volume setting had to absolutely correct !! :)).... Scary really how technology has moved on in 12 years.

See ya,

Sirius.

PS, You can get a virtual Acorn Electron and 'Romz' to run all the old fave games on the PC!!! Yes its true! Might get it just for the laff, the size of the thing and games will probably fit on a floppy disk!!!!.

That's the way forward init ?? Make a mess though if I tried to do it me self - wires dangling all over the place :axe:

Lolololol, I know someone with one of them electric ones and when it goes off by accident it causes some right problems (can't just whip the battery out to temporarily stop it ;) )

It carries on for around 10 mins, and to make things worse it's about 10 times as loud as yer battery operated model

Neighbours play fuk :cops: :cops:
