This time began during the year of his first appearance onto the national scene in 1991. In the past 7 years his influence to the dj/turntablist/skratch community are unparalleled by no other. His dynamic control of the turntable whether through breakneck speed improvisation to soulful musical emotion, his impatient offbeat system has brought only astonished eyes, ears and minds. Heavily influenced by the styles of world-renowned jazz musician Miles Davis, famous electric guitarists Jimmy Hendrix and Les Paul, pianist Thelonius Monk, and original and innovative DJs throughout the world, Q-Bert interprets their compositions to create sounds and styles that continue to generate a worldwide following. In the early 90's, Q-Bert dominated the DJ scene with his talent and skills. After claiming the titles of the Disco Mixing Club (DMC) 1991 USA Champion and the 1992, 1993 and 1994 DMC World Champion, he was asked by the DMC founders to judge the 1995 DMC Championships instead of actually competing. In June 1998, Q-Bert, along with another member of ISP, Mix Master Mike, received the DMC DJ Hall of Fame award for outstanding contributions to the competition and more importantly, the industry. </p><p></p><p>Since then he has wowed audiences the world over, collaborated with hip-hops most eccentric and exciting characters (people like DJ Shadow, The Cut Chemist, Dr Octogan etc) and, it seems he continues to leap light years ahead of the rest in his field. He and his Skratch Picklz cohorts have been developing equipment with the Vestax organisation for many years, and 2004 saw Q-Bert launch his latest toy. the Q.F.O. This revolutionary new turntable / mixer hybrid is just the latest gadget in Q-Bert's quest as the ultimate DJ. Q will be bringing the Q.F.O. out for a sneak preview at this exclusive UK show. For one night only the turntable master will be in Manchester to show the world what a man can really do with a pair of turntables.</p></blockquote><p></p>
