I'm not one for sharing my wants lists but my all time holy grail is probably the Acapella of Young MC - Know How. I'm not even 100% that it exists. I've got a mate who swears he's seen a copy and he's not really the lying type.
There's is another tune I'm after which is a unbelievable remix of a well known classic old house record which I've never seen for sale anywhere ever. The only copy I've ever seen was my mates. Back in about 91 he said he swap me for all my back issue's of 2000AD - and like an idiot I said no :axe: I'd glady swap the bastards now.

Btw Mikey what's yours?

shoomy

brass disc has the acca i presume

Now that's what I call a bootleg (WYDS - I didn't know there was more than one type - what are the tracklistings pls ?)

not too sure either, i was under the conclusion nipper made one,
and sasha made the other but i think i'm dreaming, relying on HTFR i'll be upset so i'll just have this illusion

(i'm trying to get in touch with him, bobby langly an old hac dj, emailed me last week to buy a record produced by himself off me, not heard anything since, i asked if he'd seen paul lately)

Dunne - Espiral (what are the Spanish remixes like ?)
not too sure, my brothers just got the picture cover version, so i want the other one

i wouldn't usually tell but i've asked about this one a while back.apparently someone asked john jepson years ago about a track he was playing at the time which had that 'drop that ghettoblaster' sample in it.the info was that it was called 'say yeah' by 'dimentia'.
it's a hard sort of italian ravey track which i'm sure a lot of you will know.i've only ever heard it on his tapes from 'zone' around 1992 era.
other info was that it was on 'underground' records italy.....it isn't though coz i've seen the full catalogue listing of that label.
i thought it may be another 'media italy' related label but on checking the listings for all the other ones i could think of...still no joy!!!
there are other tracks i'm after but they're probably already identified and although rare,i think i'll get em no problem if i put the effort in.
this 'dimentia' track though...........it's very elusive,i've found no mention of it on the net anywhere.makes me think that it's called something else and someones got their wires crossed.
thought i'd mention it though,if anyone finds it then it means there's more copies out there, believe me EVERY tune turns up in the end in my experience :phones:
all the best peeps!

Digthemusic - I take it you're still after Jepson's "beat of love" tune. Me an all. Even id'ing it would be a massive bonus.

Your dead right there jonno mate.Ikeep pestering welly on his website but the last message i left he did`nt reply to, so i think he`s given up on me.The other messages i left he kept saying he would chase him up on it.Welly knows the tune but does`st know the answer. The place where i work steve farkus`s brother works,i asked to see if he could find out jepson`s email address and i will pester him instead, but unfortunatley the trail went cold.

I have even resorted to email that record shop in germany caled totalrecall because i remember some one saying(i think it was you)that they got it from a german record fair.

If any one can give me jepson`s email address i will gladly try to pick his brains.

Hope you have better luck than me jonno

Also i`ve seen that welly has has joined the other oldskool athems forum which i have`nt joined yet so if you know someone who`s on it or someone who know`s him he might give you the answer

I only know him by sight from the early monroes days when he had the dodgy longhair haircut butnot to talk to really

Thanks for stayiong intrested jonno at least i`m not the only person looking for this top top tune

I used to half know John from buying records when he used to work in Melody House. Does anyone know if the bloke's even still alive? I haven't seen him DJing on any flyers for years.

Digthemusic re some of your other unknowns - I've not seen Neil aka DJ Cruz for ages to ask him. My mate still knocks around with him so I'm just gonna have to write down the unknowns or summat for him to pass them on.

Supposed towrite this in the above post

I`ve found out some of my ids whichwere the song about an angel.Which was hold me by velvet, and i`ve just ordered the accapella hot 4 you which was on the greatest accapellas of all time.but the othe rtune i was after was the tune which started off by saying the house is now on fire then broke into a kind of bleepy techno tune. What i should of done is payed more attention years ago when i thought there was no better club than monroes(to many brown buiscuits)

f.a.o digthemusic

matey!
the 'dimentia' (?) tune has the lyrics:
'say yeah, say yeahhh, yeahhhhh make me say yeah say yeah!'

then the sample that one of the 's-express' tunes uses:
'drop that ghettoblaster'

the tape i have it on is john jepson (zone).the next tune that comes in is 'we've got energy'.wizard is the MC on this tape.other tunes on the tape are:
dance conspiracy - dub war
synthesis - house time
s.moore - i am

if you've got the tape have a listen.if you don't know the tune by the description though, you maybe don't know it.that's all there is to the tune lyrics/sample-wise.
cheers mate

I don't know about Digthemusic but I haven't even got this tune on tape. I'm only going on what I can remember of the tune from Monroe's, so we're talking over 10 years ago here. The lyrics as I remember them were a bird singing something like "I want the beat of love, yeah, yeah, yeah, whoa the beat of love, yeah, yeah, and my body says rock". Of course it could easily have been 'say yeah, say yeahhh, yeahhhhh make me say yeah say yeah!' but the track was always known as the 'beat of love' tune, even back then.

Digthemusic - I don't suppose you've got any old Monroe's tapes from back then have you?

The only tape i have of jepsons does have an mc on it and jepsons on at the end and the mc hypes him up the says this is virtual reality by john j,but the actual record is called reality feel it by john j.Unfortunatly that`s the only tape i have of john jepson.Which i can`t believe because i went to monroes, hacketts and molloys in preston were he used to play.

foa jonno

If your mate does see neil jackson he will proberbly know the name of the beat of love record, because i`m sure he used to do monroes at the same time.

I`m sorry jonno but i don`t have any monroes tapes,i`ve heard it on a tape before though so there is a tape out there.
