Well 1st things 1st... for those local that didn't attend - shame on you... it was fucking wicked
You know it's gonna be a good night when you walk into the gaff & the place is going spazz to G Double E - Fire when ready
Basically got there for the start of Mickey Finn's set & you know when nights are advertised as oldskool or 88-92 & then wanky tunes from later years are played ? This was NOTHING like that
Mickey Finn played a BLINDING set... mixing up everything from The Source - Your Love, Frankie Knuckles - Tears, a wicked mix of Kariya - Baby let me love you for tonight with the bline from Seduction - Seduction before dropping it in proper... he also played some tunes I thought I'd NEVER hear out such as Psyance - Motion & X Men - I can red your mind...
Ellis Dee was up next & again the music policy was absolutely bob on... Ronin - Jailbreak, 4 Hero - Mr Kirks nightmare, N-Joi - Anthem, FPI - Everybody
Then came Frankie Valentine taking us deeeeeeep... Fallout - The morning after, Rhythim is Rhythm - Strings of life & Nude photo then into Turntable Orchestra - You're gonna miss me when I'm gone... at which point the sound system aptly cut out ! LOL
After a few technical issues the sound was back & Frankie Valentine was rocking it with deep bassy tribalness - never knew a single tune but they were all gooooooooooood Especially need the last tune he played ID'd... lovely happy frisky beats & warm smiley bass
Then was the Nebula II PA kicking it off with the MIGHTY Antheama \o/ then going into uncharted territory with full on new hardcore... loved it
Then was Midlands don & PR-guest Pilgrim who treated us to a full on bass & bleeps session... LFO - LFO, Rhythmatic - Take me back, Unique 3 - The theme, Ital Rockers - Itals theme etc etc
Next up was Mad P & Magoo.... THE BUZZ IS IN TOWN !!!!
Proper Buzz tunes dropped... Frequency - Kiss the sky, Doctor of Dance - Theme etc etc & all accompanied by the legendary Patrick coming out with the old Buzz classic lines... fuckin LOVED it
Last up was DJ Cautious who kicked the night to an end with classic 1992 tunes Phuture Assassins - Phuture Sound (2 Bad mix mix), Nookie - Give a little love, Blame - Music takes you (2 Bad mice mix) etc etc
Respect due to Lennie for a wicked wicked night & special respect to Mr Amnesia himself MC Man Parris who again made my night by being there & coming out with his classic lines
Lastly shout out to the Redditch crew who came & smashed it... especially my sexy raving partner Claire x
