record shops in manchester

off to Manchester soon but to keep me occupied during the day does anyone reccomend any sneaky record shops with some sneaky bargains - not big anthems - little sneaky US stuff pre nineties or bleepy numbers (been to vinyl exchange etc... before). Whats this Red hut thing?

Afflecks Palace, top floor - CRIMINAL RECORDS
Dr Hermans (Opposite Afflecks) - Thru front door 2 back of shop
+ walk down road that Vinyl Exchange & Piccadilly Records, away from Eastern Bloc, there are several little shops on side streets, that sell a few bargains. Keep walking down road of Vinyl exchange/Piccadilly records, there is a shop called Reflex, that every now & then, u'll get a bargain, but only now & then!
1 more, when u come out of Hermans, there is a little Grocery Market, across from that there is a guy who sells records 4 a £1, sometimes u can find some real bargains, walk further down 2 the 'Collisium', it's a bit like 'Afflecks', theres a few record shops in there, but last thing I heard was it had shut down, still check it!!

Aye, Ive had some real bargins outta Oxfam in Manc'. I'm in Manc' all the time, "FAO WHATYADOINSUCKA..."!Where the hell is the Red Hut! or is this just a nickname 4 a shop, that I already know about

Now, Im going back a bit here, but do you know where SPLIT skate's (skateboard shop) used to be???. I think its just further along, where those 'shack' type shed things are(as you head for the center from EasternBloc.............I think this is where its meant to be - although when I went, it was ALL bobbins, and yer fingers stink o' piss after browsin' too!!.....I think theres a veg stall next door and a telephone booth at the end (near the tram trax).

I decided not to go to Manny again for vinyl, it was well dissapointing on the vinyl front compared to the heyday of 1992/1993 even upto late94 where there were so many excellent places to go to....Most of my old faves were gone when I went last, ie (been blown up), turned into flats, shuttered up, turned into hat shops, minimarts and cock piercing booths (!)......shame really, it used to be real exciting - perhaps Im just not awestruck by it all anymore.

Anywayz, if u go, take some gloves man!!!!!!!!!.Heheheh. The yokels must use the huts as a nocturnal urinal...

just been - on Saturday - Found the red hut (cheers for that) but not much there - took a few chances on some stuff.
That place at the back of Hermans was good though (Got Showing u the feeling by the meaning for £3 which was nice).
As I walked around, came to the conclusion that Manchester pisses all over Leeds for clothes and records at the moment.

My last experience in eastern bloc was a right joke. about 1996 was a little into drum 'n' bass. went up to the guy at the counter and asked for 'peshay' - vocal tune tune. Was some student spotty geek and he goes "we don't sell commercial shit in here mate, just cutting edge. try hmv!"

Thanks 4 that, I'll keep my eye out 4 his new premises! Geekboy, Eastern Bloc is still there, it just isnt 2 shops anymore, it sold shop on the corner to Flava (clothes shop) and the 1 next door to that is now Eastern Bloc! Sayin' that, I dont think Eastern Bloc is as good as it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
