anyone know why some people have these?
i've had the same dream since i was 7 , had another last week :|
basically.... i'm outside my mum and dads house..... look up at the sky.... and see what i think at first is several aircraft..... looking closely... it becomes apparent that they are no ordinary aircraft... proper advanced stuff(like in the future) or possibly ufo's :|
sounds mad but have had the exact same dream for years.....there are other people with me who see the same thing but when i wake up... i don't know who was with me....... think i need to buy a book on dreams :D

Recurring dreams basically mean that your unconcious mind has a message for you that has not yet been picked up on. Your dream was about seeing something in the sky but not knowing what it was exactly, also you didn't know who was with you. Next time you have that dream, try to look harder at the 'UFO's' and also take a look at the people around you, actually finding out more about it can help close the dream. :)

I think personally it's your fears that manifest themselves in your dreams/nightmares.

I've just pretty much confirmed that to myself.

Edit best leave it there..

dreams, imo, are the brain's way of resolving issues which it couldn't resolve during the day. it's best for your mental health in both the long and short term to try to finish a thought process when u've started it, follow it thru to conclusion to the best of ur ability. if u keep thinking 'half thoughts' and getting sidetracked all the time then ur brain gets left in limbo, and then consolidates these thoughts and concludes them during dream sleep - at least that's the way my head seems to work from what i can gather, as it's impossible to follow all thoughts thru and there's always something left to consolidate during dream sleep.

interesting subject :)

that makes a lot of sense regardin recent sleeping problems of mine, i reckon you could be spot on there mate:thumbsup:

I always used to dream I was a James Bond type character (probably every night between very young and late teens), with nice cars and very tasty women.

I can't remember my dreams these days though - i'm probably not getting enough sleep :|

cheers skippy....lol i was thinking that about seeing close encounters as a kid or maybe dr who..... was shit scared of the daleks and used to hide behind the couch when the music came on the tele :D ;)

cheers for the link woody......parts of this make a lot of sense...epecially the "spaced out attitude" lmao

quote:To see a UFO in your dream, signifies your desires to find your spiritual purpose in life. Alternatively, it indicates that you are feeling alienated from those around you. The dream may also be a metaphor suggesting that you are a little "spacey" or have "spaced out" attitude. You need to be more grounded and come back to reality.

quote:To see a spaceship in your dream, symbolizes your creative mind. It denotes a spiritual journey of self-development and self-awareness. You may need to take a different perspective, no matter how bizarre or unusual it may be.

I think that dreams sometimes are about underlieing issues.

(question for someones comment earlier)If dreams were a tool to get rid of probs, why would u have reaccuring ones?not a very effective "tool" is it?

If u don't wake up in the middle of REM sleep (light sleep/when u dream)u won't remember the dream. This signifies a good sleeping pattern (usually associated with peeps who are "natural" early birds.

You will never die in a dream, it's sort of like the Matrix in that the body would go into shock and u could die!
*Also when u have any falling dreams (off a cliff, down steirs, "up a kurb in my case) It is to stop you falling asleep too quickly. Your body has not had enough time to shut itself down (like turning a compter off without booting down first) it could cause coma and death.*
I have just read some conflicting evidence to what I wrote, but as the righter did not say how they came by the info......I choose to go with my psyc teacher.

In reply to the thread righter,

What was happening?
What you were feeling at the time? etc etc (This is the only thing that is not symbolic imo)

All the objects and people are generally symbolic.

I am not qualified, I studied Psy, but I regard myself as intuitive and can often jump into others situations and know the fealings and reasons for actions in most situations.

ps dont always instantly believe all dream representations in books, they sometimes do not correlate with each other on the same things. This does suggest an amount of unreliability.
