His gameplan was spot on. Got close in for the 1st few rounds, smuthered him and waited for the guy to tire out.

Tszyu was too old and didn't have enough recent rounds in him to go the distance.

don't agree with you here fella. Kostya would still beat anyone else in this weight division apart from Ricky obviously or atturo gatti

Great fight and a well deserved win against a quality boxer.

Only found out this mornin that Kosta Tsyzu had a broken jaw.

Not so sure. If you look at Tzsyu's record, it wasn't overly impressive. Only 31 wins and with only a handful of world class opponents.

Hard to tell how he stacked up against the best of the division because he didn't really fight any of them in the last 5 years or so, bar Zab Judah.

we'll agree to dissagree here mate. kostya is as good as they come and if we are gonna be honest, there is only a couple of world class fighters in any division. Just look at the heavies, there is not one class fighter there.
As for your point about him not fighting anyone in the last five years, well thats because he was injured and when he was fit no one would fight him.
The yanks raved about shamba mitchell, built him up to be the next big think and Kostya hammered him.
Would have been good to see him fight Gatti but it was not to be:thumbsup:
