Not everyone is born with a sliver spoon the greatest music comes from poor people (working class) & is copied by plastic fakers!

There is music lovers that love music for music & do great wonderful things with music! there is so called music lovers that just talk about music & bore us to death of how little they know about music!

Working class music Electro/Hip Hop/Hardcore/Jungle/Disco/Soul/Funk/Rock etc is copied by so called music lovers (silver spooners) for so called music lovers (the snobs of music) but they will never have that deep raw feeling of where it all comes from!

You listen to an emulation of what we LOVE!

You can spot the spoilt ones a mile off!

I kind of know what you mean, but that is a huge generalisation.

The Rolling Stones were all public school boys and did a few decent tunes mate.

I would be regarded by a few on here as a potential silver spooner, although they would be wrong, but I am no faker.

I love and feel my music. Am I working class . . .. .No.

The law of averages says that the with the sheer amount of material the Stones put out, that one or two have to hit the nail on the head?

The Stones were just one example. And I take Monty's point that their influence was Blues from working class black Americans. That does not mean that they were not inspired by it and really felt it. Very little music is not influenced by some other music.

Pink Floyd were not exactly dunderheads either and the list could go on.

I simply make the point that while loads of great music is often generated by and followed by working class people, it's not exclusive to them. Why put people in boxes based on class?

That was all.

Pink floyd / genesis et al are more bad examples, take of the rose tinted specs and what lies before you is dire! :p

I will re-phrase.

Are there no examples of non-working class musicians who have created good music?

The examples I chose may not be the best examples although that is subjective, but I do not wish that to detract from the overall point.

It's certainly worth pondering over! Ultimately, you have to say "Yes", but my caveat of the million monkeys with a million typewriters scenario still applies!

LOL!

Equally there are many examples of really bad music/bands that are working class! Using the Typewriters and Monkeys of course.;)

Music is for all.
