I was a massive fan of hers from when I first saw her on Casey Kasem's Billboard programme (which showed us what was happening Stateside musically during the 80's) when she released her first album in 1985. She had an amazing voice and I went straight out and bought her album and played it over and over Her next album Whitney (in 87) was good too, but I was into other harder hitting music then and maybe even house music) and the pop songs on her new album weren't on the agenda for me.

It's a real shame that she had problems later on in her personal life and her career and maybe that's why I wasn't too shocked when I heard the news this morning
