[QUOTE="ScouseCol, post: 541354, member: 3679"] hope the bloke was ok, quite ironic and rather funny that you ended up with their bike and they got away with nowt lol  good on ya for goin to the rescue without a thought for your own safety, ya do hear of people all the time doin exacly what you did and gettin stabbed or beaten up by a big gang of them, so glad ur ok too. I'd imagine u weighed up the situation first thou before u went jumpin in. on the whole issue though, i will say this... (and this isn't aimed at anybody in particular as i think everyone who's said somethin holds a valid point, I'm just looking at things from a different angle for the sake of debate.) this whole scallie or "chav" culture that people seem to have latched onto which has become a running joke for the middle and upper class's worries me slightly thou. a chav is usually somebody who comes from a deprived background, these kids have grown up knowin nowt else, thier parents are probably socially inept, unemployed, alcholics, drug usuers, abusers, no morals or faith in the system because it probably failed them in their childhood. yes of course we all make our own choices and I'm not sayin every single one of these people deserve our empathy, but the only way to tackle this sort of thing is by gettin to the root of the problem and giving people some choices and a positive change of perception of life at an early stage not just taking the piss because we cant be arsed doing anythin about it ourselves, all that does is drive a bigger devide between the so called "chav" and the rest of our self righteous society because naturally when somebody is ridiculed time and time again they will start to resent the people who ridicule them. I'm a from a pretty rough area, i have a skinhead, a pretty broad scouse accent and i like to wear tracksuits, lookin at me sometimes ya might point n say I'm a scallie. thing is thou I'm finding myself not buying tracksuits anymore even though i'd rather wear them as they're comfy cause i know that I'm going to get labeled right away as a scallie, when that happens on the whole i get treated as a lesser person. i don't wear them if i'm goin anywhere too far out of my area if i can help it. pretty sad really init. feels like sometimes that being or just looking poor is a crime in itself. i think some people don't even know they're born. don't get me wrong, I'm not standing up for the little Cnts who rob people and cause murder one bit, it most definately should not be tollerated, people who commit crime should be punnished accordingly without a doubt. i just feel sometimes people forget where they've come from and others just take the piss without knowin a thing about whats really goin on cause they're born with silver spoons in thier mouths and they think cause mummy daddy paid for them to study scociology in university they're an authority on the countrys problems.
