Yeh, I agree wiv Ste! Scratching has a time and a place, and I personally dont think you can just scratch anywhere! Scratching is originally an effect/trick used in hip hop when breaks where dropped in repetively or to fill a blank/instrum/or where the DJ was able to show off.

Some dance music I personally think scratching is a NO NO! Peeps who mix TRANCE, thats defo a no no for scratching, deep grooves can be a no no, unless the scratch is positioned perfectly!! I'd say if youre playing house / old skool! Scratch about every 10 to 15 tunes, If you've only got 1 or 2 rhythmic/melodic scratches you dont want to here it every 2 feckin tunes!!!
