If singing in church was on The Krypton Factor i reck no-one would be able to do it right its that hard.

Is it me or are all the notes of the song in no partic order, going up and down the scale more than Mariah 'get me puppies, i want a white dressing room blah blah' Carey. I mean, if you can get your head round all the 'righteous, greatness, evergiving' etc style lingo you then have the crazy music to try and suss. And why oh why is there always someone right behind you who fancies themselves as Pavoroti?

So i decided long ago not to play the church sing-a-long game where you either mime stupidly or make bizarre random note guesses (which results in me sounding like a pubescent boy complete with vioce breaking idiocity), and now i just stand there with gob firmly shut trying hard not to look at priest/vicar* at front for fear of one of those looks that say 'Sing or be sent to hell'.

So do you sing at churches- enjoy it even, or do you play my game and be all mute and wish you were anywhere but there?.

:)

*I have no idea why, perhaps because i always think they are all pure and i am not- but whenever i am in religious peeps company i always feel like i am going to swear out loud and embarrass myself, or i get bad shag flashbacks and think they can read my mind.

I love singin in church - especially at crimble when you get to sing 'proper' carols - stuff like Holly & The Ivy, Once In Royal Davids City etc - None of this "we wish you a merry christmas bollocks"...

Also love singin Jerusalem - proper goosepimple time...

I hear what say about bints who try & give it full octave range from bowel shatterin bass to glass smashin trebles... :naughty: I always seem em on Songs of Praise too tryin to catch the camera mans eye with a full on gob movement

nope i dont sing in church.

i just open the book and stare at the page and laugh quietly to myself at all the people who are really into it and think there above all of us sinners, but i bet they go home and have a mad bondage sesh in theyre depraved cellar at home with the vicar and his flock :condom:

church is crap anyway, i try and make a point to avoid it if it is possible :|

i deffo do not sing in church, it would just be too painful!! i mime cause i think the vicar will think im evil if im not singing, i also mime at school assemblys/plays etc.
at our wedding we hired a choir cause we knew that no-one would sing other wise and i tried to pick hymns that would be easy to sing (i wanted kum by yar (is that how you spell it??) but armando wouldnt let me) we chose 'bread of heaven' cause even if you didnt know the actual hymn you could still sing along cause its the football chant "get your tits out for the lads" yes now you know the one!!! :D

i don't do churches :moonie: , funerals and weddings are the only time I'll set foot in them. as for singin at church, i keep my gob shut even thou i have a voice like an angel (the angel of death that is) :| :$.

my belief is churches are there to bore you and embaress you (by forcing you to sing) into becoming an atheist. and I'm livin proof they bloody work.

Na, I wouldn't sing. But then again I wouldn't be in a church to sing anyway. The last time I was in a church was last June at my mates wedding, and I didn't sing then. Firstly because I didn't know the hymns. Second, because I didn't have a hymn sheet, and thirdly because I was videoing the ceremony and taking pics for him.

the things people will do to get out of singing at weddings, i think I'll go by a digi-cam and a video camera incase anyone invites to a wedding any time soon lol ;)

Hym lyrics are truly shocking. Anyone who sings....... "onward Christian soldiers marching as to war, with the cross of Jeeeee-sus going on before".....
frankly deserves being mugged by the chavs smoking weed in the graveyard.
They have the nerve to attack lyrics in records and the morals of certain "stars" but yet have the hypocrisy to drone along like zombies singing such brain washing material as "the Lord is my Shepard" etc. A load of bollocks

Yes predictable I know, but anything related to religion has it coming I'm afraid. The content of Hymns/prayers is one thing that upsets me in particular. Hard to believe people take such nonsense seriously.
