Can I just be a little controversial here and say I got a bad bag of Smith's Chip Sticks last night :( They just weren't up to scratch. They were pretty much exactly the same as the Chipmunk 10p copies, which isn't good.

They are no longer Smiths of course. It's just a front. They have been taken over by Walkers. They got Frazzles at the same time.

The same thing happened with Monster Munch from KP, and look what happened to them.

Walkers don't care about our snacks, they are owned by Frito-Lay (who are owned by Pepsi-Co). They are american ffs, what do they know about savoury snacks, they can't even spell it (it's savoury not savory)!
I'm the same as you with spelling, it's sometimes percieved as being pedantic but it's not! :) Also, I f@cking love love love frazzles, but now they're smaller. In fact, I'm gona write a letter of complaint to walkers asking why this is?? hmmmmmmmmmm..... :naughty: :cops:

LOL Just found this site

I ~ L O V E ~ C R I S P S

All the ole favourites are there inc Tangy Toms, Space Raiders & Transformer Snacks :D
TANGY TOMS!!!!!!!!!!! :p

the only other way i can describe them is like the texture of those 'thai bites', those kind of weird stiff crackers that used to be available a couple of years ago

theyre not the same anyway :naughty:

I know this is a snack thread but reading it has given me another retro flashback.. remember those bloody dancing flowers ? :D
Please note everyone, these are not crisps, I repeat : NOT crisps, and I cannot be held responsible if you come across one, attempt to eat it in a quest to see if their shape, size or consistency has changed, and then choke a bit. Or die. ;)

My top 10 crisps are, in no particular order coz it's how I feel on the day/what's available......

*lightly salted kettle chips
*orignal french fries (it's not plain-coz they're not! :D)
*frazzles
*smoky bacon walkers
*cheese and onion french fries (the only cheese and onion crisps i will eat)
*the orange nik naks (nice and spicy is it??)
*beef hula hoops
*orignal squares
*Orignal chip sticks
*original hula hoops

As you can see, I'm kinda into ready salted crisps, or smokey bacon.... coring I suppose! :D

There are some crisps which I cant touch any more, and I used to eat them all the time at the pub (b mans house). Beef and onion walkers.

But now, I'm scarred for life after drinking waaaaaaaaaay too much one night (I pretty much drank the bar dry) I ate a pack and then very soon after threw them up. It wqas gross, ask butty, he had to clear up the j.i.c (just in case) bucket. It was like the chewed up crisps came straight back up how I'd swallowed them, flavour and all... :hurl:

The mornin after, I had alcohol poisoning and I haven't touched them since. I can't even face opening a packet now. I miss them soooooo much    lol

Chipsticks...

I must admit along with salt n vinegar discos, and pickled onion monster munch they do rule the roost. A mate of mine swears by original but i would go for salt n vinegar anyday.

No where can you get these anymore. The nearest to them are the plain flavoured own brand ones from Tesco or Sainsburys. These little beauties are probably responsible for knocking couple of years of my life.
