Saw a sign for some for sale the other day and they cost a bloody one-r!!!

i know they live practically forevermore so you're probably getting your moneys worth in terms of cost per year, and also technically I suppose they come with an attached 'home' lol, but really.. do these shelled buggers actually do anything?

Just wondered, like :D

and I wonder how hard it would be to actually bust a tortoise out of its shell, should you want to, for any reason
what happens to them if they're shell-less, i'm now really curious as to what they would look like too

Thats why theyre so expensive.. cos after theyve died you can scrape it out of its shell leaving you a nice firside ornament. If youre really creative you can make a number of things from them, for example an ash tray, shoes - although youd need 2 for that..

lol u twit! Amys got 2 at work and i did have a video of 1 tryin 2 eat my finger thru the glass of its tank for about 5 mins, Thick as pigshit and boring 2 cowin boot, Funny tho i will see if i can find it :D

lol, that post has just reminded me of the weekend just gone when Woody got bitten on the finger by a hamster after he was waggling his fingers into its cage

and i feel sorry for tortoises now you've called them thick and boring :| awww

I remember hearing about back in the 90's or whenever Teenage mutant ninja turtles were at their peak , loadsa kids got terrapins then got bored after a while and they apparently were being abandoned / flushed down the bog etc...

tutles have fin-type limbs, and tortoises have legs... right?
so I reckon surely they were more teenage mutant ninja tortoises than turtles
