Don't agree with everyone about the mixes. Weatherall's Mix Of Two Halves is THE standout mix of this track. It is up there with the mixes he did of The Grid's Flotation and Primal Scream's Come Together, and I do not give that compliment lightly, as his mix of Come Together is my favourite track ever.

If anybody hasn't heard that mix then they should seek it out.

its all been said by fred funk. I totally agree 100% weatherall was the man for me. Primal scream, st ettienne, james, the grid, jah wobble etc. Amazing productions in 90/91

I was a AW junkie up untill Sabres stuff, I even bought the ST Etienne track we are talking about without hearing it 'cos his name was on it - all the above listed are winners - but there was a couple of duff ones ... Sly and Lovechild/Linda Love weren't great by a long stretch

He did do a few that weren't brilliant, but going back to what I said in an earlier post, I think he did St Etienne's Only Love, The Grid's Flotation and Primal Scream's Come Together all in one summer. Not 100% certain that is correct about it all happening that summer, but it did happen that year.
I think to produce that level of quality in such a short period of time is nothing short of ludicrous.
Come to think of it, he did Airstream's Follow Through in 1991 as well! I wonder if it was the summer as well?
I think we can allow him one or two remixes that weren't quite up to the standard of the tunes mentioned.
...and as I jump quickly up on me soapbox, I don't think Primal Scream's Screamadelica should have Primal Scream as the artist as it is basically f**k all to do with them and pretty much everything to do with Andy Weatherall. ...and that was done in 1991. I doubt Mr Weatherall had time to take a dump in 1991 he was so busy releasing tunes.

You are quite correct - there is a remix discography up for AW somewhere and it is chronological - the release around this period are exceptional - when you release this much gold then of course a few below (you're admittedly high) average are more than acceptable

I almost agree but alex patterson chipped in as well and without the primals we wouldn't have the most excellent 'movin on up' as the wicked opener

does anyone know the score with the my bloody valentine track sometimes being called glider and sometimes called soon?

The original MBV release was called "The Glider EP"

R-150-396470-1108500977.jpg

Tracklisting:
A1 Soon (7:00) A2 Glider (3:10) B1 Don't Ask Why (4:03) B2 Off Your Face (4:15)

Weatherall then remixed "Soon" of this ep for what was know as MBV - Glider EP (Remixes)

top remix with loadsa samples of Westbam (which in turn was sampled from Gang Of Four & Banbarra) and a lovely Claire Hammill vocal sample etc
