A white label sounds like a bootleg of the original bootleg - I'd guess it'll be worth a tenner or so.

The original bootleg has a 50's style drawing of a "pin up girl" on each side. It's got a proper printed label basically.

Dya know it doesnt surprise me, the tossers

I dont mind paying that for the tune, but could there info be much more wrong?

The original is on Paragon, and this is the pin down mix, a remix done by / or / released with Awesome 3. It is no way the original, its f**king Birmingham again (although it is the best mix)

LOL

if ya want to buy the proper piano remix (not on a bootleg) im selling it here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2536136462

That is the original and much copied Pin Up Girls bootleg that DMF have got listed there. The label is definitely Soft Records although it's also Rockola Music - the funny thing is it says "c 1980" so I presume the label is off another record from then or something.

The Paragon release is where the acapella is from - but it's this Soft Records bootleg that is the origin of the acapella combined with the all important piano (from Definition Of Love).

Are you absolutely sure fella?

Im not deffo now youve said that, but ive got the Paragon release from 89 which is Final Cut w/ True Faith feat Bridgett Grace.

This does have the A-Cappella mix on it, which is used on the pin up mix (the pin down mix) but this 89 one says its the original mix, and believe me its a bit od a detroit housey cheesey one, whereas the piano one sounds more 90/91. old skool.

I always thought the original was a detroit house tune, and we got alll the remixes over here, like the network release, with the big breakbeat, and the piano remix (theres also a top renk records hardcore remix ive got n all)

Im not saying im right, i dont know myself, but the one on the booty (and on the Awesome 3 release) sounds like someones cobbled together an intro piano, then played the acappella, and stuck a breakbeat behing it, and finally faded out into another piano.

Also wasnt the Englishman In New York - Sting (Liebrand Mix) released 11/08/90 ?

Im stumped now

Don't wanna seem rude here or owt Fantazia but your description on ebay is a tad misleading. The artist for that release is definitely Awesome 3. The True Faith release on Network has more call to be called The Pin Up Girls because it's the closest to the original bootleg.

Both the Awesome 3 and Network True Faith releases are admitting to be copies of the Soft Records bootleg by mentioning the Pin Up Girls.

Here's a picture of the original bootleg:

I thought this was the same as whats on the booty, cos it sounded like itin the record shop at the weekend.

BUT the record i saw at the weekend was a white label, so i wouldnt like to bet my life its the same one as yours.

Sorry mate I wasn't trying to be confrontational myself there or owt. My reply was sort of an after thought to the other one - I was scanning at the same time so you'd answered by the time I'd posted.

Well looking at it now Jonno, and if you can confirm its the same version, did Awesome 3 just press that version up on their record to shift a few more copies, from that earlier one youve got?

Can't listen to that sample unfortunately - might need to upgrade my Real player.

I've got the Awesome 3 release though and it's a wierd one. It starts off sort of similar to the bootleg but then it goes into that full on piano breakdown - It's a cracker. The acapella isn't the same as they use in the track either - they have the acapella re-sung but use the original samples for the mix.

Here's a sample of the bootleg mix. It's more or less identical to the Network True Faith release except it's shorter and it has a slightly different start. For instance on the Network one there's a kind of record spin back noise just before the singing starts which isn't on the original bootleg:
