Over the hill in St Helens
innit weird that the last film he starred in he played a cop that was paralysed by a bullet, he then gave an interveiw stating that it would be really awful for somebody to become this way, somebody like himself who was six foot and athletic and how the emotional effects would be hard to deal with.........?
RIP

:( Awww I know it made me feel a wee bit sad this morning when I watched it on the news... I guess it sort of shattered all my illusions that there really is no super man after all...

Here Here to Christopher Reeves who inspired a generation....

yeah, its a sad affair isnt it.

He was a great fella on many acounts, and after his accident he was fantastic with what he did and what he helped with. I too heard he was involved in some pioneering operation technique and there was hope of some regain from his condition, and considering the role he played as superman made it all the more heartbreaking that somebody like Christopher was struck down in that way.

Although I used to play hell that superman was on every bank holiday, christmas, new years and whatever on tv when I was a teenager, the films were excellent when I was a kid, and they always get watched when theyre on, even for richard priors and lex luthur comedy value lol.

 to Christopher, and may you have a good afterlife fella.

Those were my very first word's to Jonno this morning. As he woke up i said "Christopher Reeves is dead" as i had heard it on the news (he did not appear to find this as interesting as i, and certainly did not appreciate it being the first words of the day). I was quite shocked tbh- what givent the amount of care package he had.

Infact i am amazed he survived his accident with the amount of paralysis he sustained. It really is unusual not to totaly sever the phrenic nerve in those instances, as he damaged his spinal cord so much. It would be facinating to know what he thought of his quality of life following his accident.
