I'd never even heard about it before until I saw a documentary about it.
It was made in the Lake District around Windermere (I think) and it couldn't have been made today - with the child cruelty laws.
I'd like to check it too (well at least to see if it's worth watching)

Cant honestly remember much about them, but as you have both mentioned them i felt a warm squidgy feeling inside.....like the wake up call to my sumwhat distant childhood

i've just had a quick scout around the usual downloaded sources and it's not available as video, tho it is available as an audio-book.
but i think i've got it on betamax somewhere, stashed in a box along with 'chocky' and 'the boy from space' and a few other odd bbc productions of that era.
they're probably in my parents loft alongside the old 'sanyo betacord vcr5000' which every household around here also at that time...
Ah, well if you ever manage to get it from storage, let me know. Lucky for me my folks also have a Beetamax!
