You know the original craze, ie the media hype, before pianos got in the way.....tell the truth , did anyone like or listen too Acid House '87 stylee? you know,,,,,,the 303 going on for 10 mins, with the same beat all the way thru.......Did you pretend you liked it?

what did they call it then???....trance music?

Before you slate acid listen to true old skool acid (303) classics:

Phuture - Slam
Bobby Konders - Nervous acid
R Tyme - R Theme
Adonis - H.O.U.S.E
Adonis - The poke

etc etc etc

PS Not all tunes termed 'acid house' had acid in them - is it the 303 you object to or the old style house ?? How can you not listen to & enjoy tunes like You love, Salsa House, Everything starts with an E, Morning After, Tears, Devotion (Ten City) etc etc etc TUUUUUUNES.....

each to their own I suppose but the above classics hold 'nuff memories for me....

acid

just think of the work marshall jefferson did to make "house music anthem" (a proper origional house tune from the acid era and still a piano classic) only for loads of italians with mullet haircuts to plunder the idea and stick bits of lolleata holloway and aretha franklin over the top sometimes with a cheesy rap aswell (with a few exceptions of course, sld, asha, mb etc...).

Still a top tune, and a good egsample of how Acid music, could blend into house. 1986 as well, 2 years before the smiley culture summer of love kicked off

oops, i think ive been misunderstood, im talking ACID house, not classic house tracks, but just a pure 303 and 808 type stuff. The genre that got the media hype, can anyone name a genuine acid house track that they love?

its odd, because there are so many forms of great house/dance music, but the one that the media said started it off was acid house, I mean i went to the hacienda in 87/88 and the acid stuff just sort of glued the great tracks together, they were ok, but not classic toons, so why the famous phrase "acid house", i dont get it....

I agree, i remember my brother telling me when he read it in the newspapers "oh you all pretend to trance dance" to something called acid house, and I thought " what.....?" I didnt take drugs at first , and the accidy stuff only lasted for about 6 months....then came pierre feroldi and the gang...... 'nuff said.... robert owens ..."i'll be your friend, i remember clapping my hands too that one....classic toones indeed
