Watched half of this the other night, only got up to where he was showing the doc and his missus the photie of his mother, and i had to stop as i was getting upset. I am going to have my tea (Risotto before anyone starts a crazy 'what you had for tea thread :p ) and watch the rest, but i know i am in for a rough ride.

Anyone else seen this (so far) beautiful yet profoundly meloncholic film? If so did you cry like a great big baby?

:)

Don't think I've seen the film, but I remember watching a documentary about him ages ago. They've got a cast of his head somewhere, fooking mad. :|

Sat and watched this the a while back with my daughter. She had heard about it at school and wanted to watch it. I warned her that it would upset her but i felt the film had alot to offer her in understanding human nature. When i first saw the film it moved me to tears but i felt that id become more tollerant and less opinionated on the way people are percieved to be normal through watching it. Hopefully it did the same for her which im sure it did.
One of the best films ever imo.

We watched it all in the end. Although I'd seen it before it's still very upsetting. David Lynch was the perfect perfect preson to make this film. His choice to shoot the film in black and white was a stroke of pure genius. The gritty images he creates of industrial Victorian London have never been matched IMO.

A real true classic.
